Granite in Stock

Granite Price Levels

Granite comes in many different price levels.  The lower the number the less it cost us, the fabricator, to buy.  Lower price does not mean lower quality.  Many of the level 1 granites are very high quality, easy to work with and have an extremely consistent finish.

Granite may cost more for a number of reasons.

a)      Availability – is it easy to quarry and near transportation?  Or is it high in the mountains only accessible in a few summer months?

b)      Consistency – Every granite should be almost equal in strength and durability once it is installed.  Lower level and less priced granites tend to be very consistent and made up of similar minerals.  Some higher priced granites are full of mineral veins and fissures, making them harder to transport and resulting in losses prior to the slabs arriving in your home.

c)      Rarity – Rare exotics may only be available for short periods of time until the quarry runs out, making them special and more expensive.

We generally stock only levels 1, 2 and 3 however we do have some higher priced granites such as Bianca Antico(level 4-5), Delicatus Gold (Level 5-6) and Blue Pearl GT (Level 4) in stock.

We also have immediate access to thousands of other slabs in hundreds of other colours.  If you find something you like online let us know.  I will track it down for you.

Keep in mind, the actual costs of the material for your project is only between 20% and 30% of your project.  The rest is labour (installation and fabrication), shipping and overhead costs.  So moving from a level 1 granite to a level 3 granite may only relatively cost you a small percentage of the total project.
